    Mossberg 590A1 recoil pad?

    Heyos...

For some reason, this is proving very difficult info to find... anyone happen to know which LimbSaver or KickEez slip-on recoil pads (part number please) will fit a Mossberg 590A1 with the Speedfeed stock? This is the Mossberg 590A1 model 51668 shown below:

The shotgun didn't arrive just yet, but I figured I'd go find a slip-on recoil pad to use initially until I sort out which custom-fit pads will be compatible with the 590A1's stock. Everything I keep finding references the more common Mossberg 500 model for some reason, but nothing seems to indicate for sure if the 500 stock is the same as the 590A1 (since it has the speedfeed).

    Thanks!

Knoxx Industries Recoil Reducing Stock<---this is the best in the business if you can afford another $90.00.
    Here's a link to a thread on it. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=295352

    I don't know about a recoil pad though...sorry.

The dimensions on the standard Mossberg 500 and 590 (even with Speedfeed) stocks should not be significantly different. The slip on recoil pads made by Limbsaver should fit either.

If you're getting the grind to fit or speed mount pads you will need to measure your stock. The size charts for all of their pads are up on Limbsaver's website.

Thanks... which model LimbSaver though? Without the gun in hand, I can't take the proper measurements:

        Code:
        10546 Small 1" thick L.O.P. 4-1/2” X 1-1/2” Up to: 4 13/16” X 1-5/8”
        10547 Medium 1" thick L.O.P. 4-13/16” X 1-5/8” Up to: 5-1/8” X 1-3/4”
        10548 Large 1" thick L.O.P. 5-1/8” X 1-3/4” Up to: 5-3/8” X 1-7/8”
I'll probably keep the factory SpeedFeed stock on there for a while (but with a better recoil pad since my buddy says the stock one kinda sucks) before I decide if I want to spring for an aftermarket setup.

I can't get accurate measurements without a caliper and I can't guarantee these dimensions are the same as your stock, but I just measured a standard 500 stock and got roughly 5 1/4" x 1 3/4", give or take a few fractions of an inch. I would say the medium is the best fit but I can't be 100% sure.

I appreciate it. That jives with some other vague references to the "Medium" pads being the fit for the Mossberg 500 family. I'll just give it a try and report back when I pick the toys up this weekend.

edit: Looking again at your measured dimensions, the Large pad might fit as well. I'll figure it out.

It baffles me why this info is so elusive to find!

              no luck so far...

So, the LimbSaver "large" size slip-on pad fits over the Mossberg 590A1 SpeedFeed (51668) stock just fine... however...

The design of the SpeedFeed stock utilizes the recoil pad as a lock/base for the internal springs that tension the integral feed tubes, so you can't really remove the stock pad and replace with the slip-on. That is, unless you double them up and end up adding 1" LOP to your shotgun.

I sent an email to LimbSaver sales for guidance on which of their Precision Fit pads would fit onto a 590A1 SpeedFeed stock, but so far they have been silent. Maybe they don't want the business?

I checked their fit template guide and it appears the model #10011 might fit, but the screw holes seem set improperly, so I want to confirm before plunking down the cash.

If nobody else happens to know the answer, I'll report back with my findings once I figure it out. It's odd I haven't been able to google any solid leads either.
