I'm not sure if you can shoot steel shot through it... stick with lead unless you can verify it's built to shoot steel shot.

Breda is a manufacturer in Italy that was part of the 'Ring of Fire' if I remember correctly. The factory also used to produce parts and rifles for M1 Garands and Beretta BM59's.

Maybe someone with a Blue Book can give you more info.

    EDIT:

Seems to be manufactured by Sabatti arms with Breda barrels.

    Sabatti still exists:

Sabatti Armi, una storia lunga 300 anni, tradizione ed esperienza nella produzione di canne, azioni, fucili e carabine da caccia e da tiro.

      ><

All I can do is translate, the rest, you will need to search the net

      Chrome Moli Steel barrels
      Italian Arms Factory....Gardone, Italy.
      The rest is self explanatory

As stated above...check with a smith before using steel shot

I took it to the gun shop today to have it looked at and run a few round through it. The guys working there say its an early 70's Sabatti. I was told I probably shouldn't run steel shot through it. It has under a 6" pattern at 12-13 yards with 7 1/2 target loads. I need to get a recoil pad before I take the wife to shoot it though. I may try to sell this one and get one of the mossberg 500's I was looking at while there since I dont hunt and could use one for home defense.
