I’ve been doing a little research.
Here’s a good article; http://www.gunsandammo.com/content/d...k-shims-matter
It seems those shims have more to do with the sight plain then they do with saving my cheekbone, but the two may go hand and hand.Comment

Add a spacer that will give you a rise. If you reduce the angle that your cheek is sitting against the stock, the felt recoil on your cheekbone might be reduced. If it came with the spacers, it's worth a shot. I don't think it will make much of a difference though, sorry.Comment

This is why they provide the shims....so you can fit the shotgun to you...no more cheek slap and heavy recoil.
You will want to use the spacer that will bring the butt down.....if this does not stop the cheek slap, use a spacer that moves the butt to the right (for right handed shooters)Comment

Butt down, Thanks, Now all I need is some clear weather so I can work it out.Comment

Umm.. that would likely cause it to get worse if it had any affect at all. And shims aren't designed to reduce or improve felt recoil, they're used to adjust the sight picture so bringing your shotgun up naturally puts the rear sight at a comfortable position for a natural sight plane. And I don't know any manufacturer that makes shims that move the stock to the left or the right.Comment
