    870 front sight upgrade

ive been doing some research on an upgrade for my bead sight.

i see that xs makes a sight that epoxies over the factory bead sight. is this any good? which one is best for HD/plinking?

    are their any other options?

im into KISS, so i dont want to go over board but i think a night sight is a good upgrade.

    Thanks

XS are the best front sight available on the market outside of adding Ghost Rings. With the XS Bead all you have to do is use JB weld over the existing bead and your gtg.

my 870P only had a Bead and after adding the XS Bead I can get on target faster than with the stock sight.

I'm on the same boat as the OP. I've decided on the XS as well.

I installed a Trijicon front sight on one of my 870. It works well but required drilling and tapping to install.

Big dot is a fine upgrade. I have installed dozens and never had one come off. Install is simple and the trick I use it to place it over the bead, trace around it then pull it off. I then remove the finish from the area inside the trace and also on the bottom of the sight. This way I am bonding metal to metal and not finish to finish. However, the epoxy forming around the bead is what holds it on. The way I do it is just insurance and since many of these are duty weapons getting banged reqularly in and out of patrol cars, I know my system works well.
