    Choke?

    I got a 870, 20" barrell 7+1 capacity.

It's not threaded for a choke but I would like it to be. Is it possible to get it threaded for a choke?

Would it be better to get the barrel shortened then threaded? Then install sight again.

Would I be better off buying a barrel pre threaded?

    Input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

Depends on what you want. You can contact Steve Rose at www.roseactionsports.com and get it threaded.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Yes you can get it threaded for a choke, I would imagine it to run in the $75 range, plus a choke added to that cost.

Or you can buy one from Remington, probably in the $250 range, I think that comes with a single choke.

No need to cut the barrel down to do the work....unless you wanna.

Dependent upon what you have in mind for the choke, if it's for trap, you might need to re-think and simply get a longer barrel to serve you better as a 20" is slightly short to be proficient at that game. Not that you can't do it, but for better, longer shots with better velocity, you would be happier with a longer barrel.
