    870 slug shooting

    can i shoot a slug out of my 870 the barrel has no size you have to put a choke in it so can i shoot a slug out of it with no choke

    I think you are saying it is threaded for Rem Choke tubes. Is this correct? If so, then do not even shoot the weapon with out choke tube threaded into the end of the barrel as you damage the barrel, endanger others and even in the best case you will FUBAR the Threads.

    You can shoot slugs with the tube that came with it as it is most likely a Modified tube. slugs can be fired from Cyl Bore, I/C and Modified. Unscrew the tube with the choke wrench that came with the weapon. On the side of the tube you will find the size of the choke. As long as it is one of the three I mentioned you are fine to shoot rifled slugs through it with that tube in it. Be careful threading it back in as not to cross thread it and make sure the tube is tight before you shoot the weapon.
