    Mossberg 500, 535 VS Benelli supernova 2

Alright veterans debating between the Moss berg 500 or the 535 OR the Benelli Supernova 2. Would appreciate personal experiences and any feedback on which is superior in terms of quality, accuracy, and simply best bang for the buck thanks pros. Shoot away!

Honestly this is a very vague question. However I am assuming since the guns in one of the guns in question is a dedicated hunting gun you are asking in regards to hunting an not defense. My question is are you looking for a slug gun or a bird gun or both? I have a Supernova. I have handled the 535. As far as quality goes between the Mossberg and Benelli goes it is like comparing a BMW to a Kia. They will both get you from point "A" to "B", but one just does it better. For me, that is the Benelli. The build quality is better. Less rattle in the receiver. Everything is just tighter. Of course you pay a little more for the Benelli. Just like you pay more for a BMW.

As far as best bang for your buck I think Mossberg might have the Benelli beat with the combo 535 model. http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossb.../New/45211.jpg It has both the fowl and slug barrels. For a price tag of under $500.
Mossberg Shotguns: Find tactical, hunting, sport & youth models like 590 Shockwave, 940 Pro, 500 series. Shop 12 & 20 gauge pump, semi-auto, O/U firearms.

This was about $200 under what I paid for my Benelli and that was with the 26'' barrel it came with. I haven't bought another barrel for it so I have no idea what an extra barrel for my Benelli would run but I have a feeling if I bought a slug barrel for my Supernova I would be around the $800 all in on my gun. If I were in a state that required me to hunt shotgun only I might take a hard look a the Mossberg but then again the Supernova is a great gun. It is durable. It holds up well to rough and wet weather during duck season. It is very well built. So really it comes down to you. If you don't mind a little rattle here or there and in return you get two barrels (if you need both a slug and a fowl barrel), then the 535 in my opinion is the way to go since it offers you a good deal as far as bang for your buck. If quality is your thing and you don't need both barrels then in my opinion you can't go wrong with the Benelli.

Thanks alot CDMJ for your very thorough response greatly appreciate it. The shotty would be for HD and target practice, and i like to shoot Slugs so i think I'm gonna go with the Benelli and get the Slug barrel even though it might be quite pricey can the mossy 500 shoot slugs? or do i need to get another barrel? thanks again
