Browning Silver vs. Winchester SX3

I am looking to start hunting soon, but I do not have a long barreled shotgun. Only my HD mossberg 590 . So, I want to pick up a new, semi-automatic 12ga shotgun. Though money is not a real issue, I would like to keep it under $1400. Yea, I know that 2/3 of u are benelli and remington fans and 3/4 of u will tell me to go with "a pump." Thank you....

However, I sort of came down to these two guns and want to know which one to pick and which has better quality, reliability, aftermarket options (extended mag for trap especially).

$1400 for a semi auto Browning / Winchester? Has shotgun prices gone up that much in the Obama era?

Interested in a lightly used gold fusion 20ga? I bought it new 4 yrs ago, shot once but recently during my move, discovered a little bit of rust on its trigger. Includes original case, etc. (and maybe receipt, I think I can find it). It is extremely light, you will not get tired carrying it. $800 ? If you want O/U sporting gun (mainly brownings and berettas), I have some that I'd like to sell, let me know.

Seriously, I'm just surprised at the cost of a browning semi auto that you quoted.

Very true. I can help check if my guns fit you before you commit. Or if you take up the feeder's offer (who is an excelent shot BTW), I'd have no problems w/ you taking my guns to him to check for fit.

Thanks folks! I said $1400 as the ceiling for possible advices. Otherwise these guns can be bought new for close to $900-1000. As for $800 offer, its tempting, but I am looking to stick to 12ga for now.

Do NOT decide until/unless someone with experience helps you with fit. Pick the gun that fits you best, and then have an experienced shotgun smith fit the gun perfectly to YOU.

Brownings do hold their value, to say the least.
