Hatsan Escort LSI mods

I own a Hastan Escort LSI marine gaurd 12ga. I want to put an adjustable stock/pistol grip on the shotgun, similar to the Mossberg 590A1. Does anyone know if the Mossberg 590A1 stock/pistol grip with fit my Escort?

I doubt that it fits. Most stocks are manufactured to be model specific, and I don't believe the Escort is patterned after the Mossberg or any other make/model. I am not aware of any after-market accessories for your Escort.

Also be aware that adding a collapsible stock/ pistol grip to your shotgun will trigger 922(r) compliance. Finding US parts for your Escort would be near impossible, unless you are reworking existing US parts to fit.

Blackhawk stock is adjustable, not collapsible. So, here's the link...

It's as collapsible as any M4 stock. It is also a similar type of stock if added to a semi-automatic centerfire rifle capable of accepting a detachable magazine, would make it an assault rifle in CA.

The reason you never see folding or collapsible stocks on imported shotguns in gun stores is because:

It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes except that this subsection shall not apply to--
(1) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for sale or distribution by a licensed manufacturer to the United States or any department or agency thereof or to any State or any department, agency, or political subdivision thereof; or
(2) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for the purposes of testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney General.

If you really want the Blackhawk stock on your Escort, the only way to determine whether this configuration is "suitable for sporting purposes" would be to write to the ATF's Technical Dept. The term "Sporting Purposes" is in actuality determined by the opinion of the Secretary of the Treasury. Section 925(d)(3), Title 18, U.S.C., states that the Secretary shall authorize a firearm or ammunition to be imported or brought into the United States if it is of a type that does not fall within the definition of a firearm in section 5845(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and is generally recognized as particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes, excluding surplus military firearms.

To be honest with you, I've heard that 922(r) is not seriously enforced by ATF on shotguns assembled by individuals, but I am of the opinion that staying legal is more important than having a fancy stock on your shotgun, because you don't want to be the first Federal test case for 922(r).

Since this is for home defense, and if used for such matters.... Better to be compliant with the laws, than not.

My purpose is not for looks, it for function. My wife is a petite lady. The adjustability and added shock recoil springs would make her more comfortable. She's kinda ok with the current 12ga, I'm just trying to see what would make it more comfortable for her. I suppose I'll just have to buy her own shotgun.

922(r) only applies to imported shotguns (and semi-auto rifles), so you can configure US made shotguns however you like.

If your wife is petite, have you considered a 20Ga shotgun with a youth stock on it, or putting a Triopad stock (it's the adjustable-length stock Hatsan uses on their youth model Escort) on your Escort 12Ga and using low-recoil buck shot? 20GA buckshot or 12GA low-recoil buckshot is plenty effective for HD.
