Benelli M4 Collapsable Stock CA OK?

Im seeing conflicting information on the collapsable stock, is this CA OK?

Ive been told it only fits the military and law enforcement version of the m4 and benelli wont sell it to civillians, though ive seen one for sale here not so long ago just the stock that is.
As far as i can see when it comes to being adjustable that means fully extended or completely collapsed, no lengths in between like on an AR stock so not sure if its worth it anyway.

You cant put it on anyway because it would create an "assault shotgun" because its a semi auto shotgun with a collapsible stock.

Yes and no.

You can:
-Buy it (parts are parts).
-Possess it as parts (again parts are parts).
-Install it on your M4 when out of state so long as it is uninstalled before crossing back into California.
-Pin or otherwise fix the stock such that it will not collapse when installed for in state use. This can include using an M1014 recoil tube which does not allow the stock to collapse.
-Install it such that no "pistol grip" as per the Penal Code definition is anywhere on the shotgun when the stock is installed (protip: this means either not installing the pistol grip that comes with the collapsing stock which is inadvisable from a function perspective, or fabricating some kind of non-pistol grip replacement for said pistol grip when the collapsing stock is installed) (further protip: this scenario is probably not something you would ever end up doing for practicality and comfort reasons).

You cannot:
-Install it on the M4 when when in California if there are pistol grips anywhere on said M4 (forward or rear).

Remember:
-There is no "constructive possession" for AWs.
-Parts are parts.
-Semi auto shotguns can have either Pistol grips OR collapsing/folding stocks, but may not have both at the same time without becoming unregistered assault weapons.
-All recent civilian M4 Super 90s (m11707, m11717) should have a recoil tube capable of accepting the collapsing stock such that it will collapse the way the military/LE versions do. This is different from the M1014s brought in earlier that had recoil tubes that would not allow the stock to collapse.

you could also get the M1014s recoil tube and you would not need to pin it as it wont colapse. you could probably get a few bucks when swapping tubes also.
