Just curious, I'm wordering if the Remington replacement barrels for the 870 such as Part # F242243 18.5" IC parkerized come with the detent ball for magazine tube cap retention to be backwards-compatible with older models and extensions? Thanks in advance, I looked on Remington, Midway and Brownell's websites and couldn't find out the details.

Yes it does. You are describing the 18.5" parkerized and that comes on the 870P and has the detent. I sell hundreds of these a year so the info is good as I know this barrel well.JD McGuire, Owner
