    M4 forend - surefire M80?

Lookin to add a light (and stay 922r compliant).
Seems like the M80 and a pic rail mouned light w/ pressure swich is the way to go. any feedback on this or other suggestions? Thx!

Although there does seem to be quite a bit of neg. feedback on the M80, but it's all from 2yrs ago

Sidearmor seems like a slick setup, but doesn't fix my forend problem.

    help.?

    Slim pick'ns.

Surefire M80 and the KZ (from Botach) are the only two US made railed forearm I know of.
Price wise, KZ is cheaper, fit was fine on my M4, I don't like the "bulk", but it did it's job, nothing bad to say about it.
I'd go with M80 just because of the slimmer profile though.

Same place... Been thinking of the new Side Armor (mod 2)... because you really can't mount a light on the surefire without ripping into your hand... but you could add rail covers that contain pressure switch on m80 and light on side of Side Armors... I just wish I could get a surefire forend like I have on my 870...
My only issue with the side armor is 6mm channel on not?
Glad I didn't buy the mod 1 since the mod 2 is so much better...
Also concerned that would be so round if had m80 and rail covers over...
So was leaning to Side Armor with a Pistol light on the side... no pressure switch...
but still a safe queen until I decide...

Yeah so surefire m80 withrail covers and pressure switch for light tbat mounts to the mod2 sidearmor rail.
But, wow that's a whole lotta money for a stupid solution to a problem

I have the Surefire forend on my M4. It functions fine, but the fit is ****ing horrible. The rubber parts 'bow' up around where the barrel goes into the receiver. It doesn't cause any problems, but it looks janky. Could probably be fixed with a dremel, but I'm lazy.

I'll take some pics if you're curious.

I originally had the KZ forend, but removed it because it made the weapon feel too heavy. It was also a little too over-the-top mall ninja for me.. :-)

I have the M80 with a X400 and pressure switch mounted. The fit on the surefire is fixed other than the lil bow like "fleadh" posted i took a dremel and it is fixed.

The KZ has no love on the benelli fourm so not sure I would go that way.

the side armor has alot of great feed back but as you said wont help ya any.
My suggestion is get the M80 light and switch. Hit me if you do I will tell you where they are super cheap M80 = 180 bucks no tax

              RocketW19:
I'd appreciate the info on where to get the Surefire M80 for $180.00. Don't know what I can do for you in return, unless you're interested in the results of some buckshot patterning tests I did.

I meant to add: I bought the KZ forend. It's 1mm too long for my M4 (model 11707), so the barrel won't seat all the way into the receiver. I could mill off a little of the back end to make it fit, but it weighs 11 oz. compared to the Surefire's 8 oz., so I thought I'd try the Surefire and maybe save some trouble.

              Thank you!

I'm in favor of simple mag tube mounted light setup and not spending the money or adding the weight of the M80, or similar, rail forend. Plus the fit issues seem hit and miss on the M80. If you're worried about 922R, Freedom Fighter Tactical is supposed to be coming out with a new US made OEM forend to replace the factory grip. You can check their site for status.

                  Peace
