    Carlock Shuffle

Lately I have thought of relying on my 590 should a "mini" SHTF hits. By mini I mean a good size quake/Katrina type event. One where you wont be engaging endless hordes of the undead, more like a couple of would be looters.

On that note fast or dare I say "tactical" loading of the ol' scattergun is needed. So last night while surfing YouTube for the best shotgun gunslingers this side of the Pecos I came across the "Carlock Shuffle"

Any one here know of it, use it, hate it?

Looks like a neat way to reload fast if you are behind cover and the BG's are not danger close.

Because the video calls it the Carlock Shuffle. My mind mistakenly thought it was meant to be easier to load your shotgun if you were stuck inside your car sitting down...
    Which it actually might be.

( going by an old weapons testing video I have seen called "Deadly weapons" which is available free on YouTube...

( it's a little bit dated but filled with good information and even a little bit funny when they start shooting themselves in chests with 308 rifles and 44 magnums wearing bulletproof vests.)

... a shotgun loaded with slugs was a more effective load against automobiles and their metal than a lot of other ammunition.)

All's I can say is you have to practice a bunch to get as quick as he is and develop that muscle memory.

Correct me if i'm wrong, and i might be wrong since with the age my memory betrays me more and more often, but it seems to me that in aftermath of Katrina and similar "Mini " events, police went door to door and expropriated all firearms. Is it true?

That’s a fact. I have seen one case where news coverage showed LE went into some old lady’s house and took her firearm from her by force. Here’s a brief news coverage from that time:
