Bad advice for Benelli M4 mod?

I recently acquired a Benelli M4. I would like to put on a Carrier comp Full Length mag tube. When I asked the gentleman working at the local shop where I completed the PPT about changing the follower and stock he said, "You can just swap out the mag tube for the full length one w/out any additional changes". I asked him if that was only applicable for a mag tube extension, he stated either or was okay.

Excuse me if I'm naive, but wouldn't that violate 922(r)? I thought I would have to change at least three of thirteen designated parts if I wanted to put on the "Full Length" mag tube?

    A little help/clarification please...

    Thanks

922 r is a federal import rule. imported benelli M4 must have at least three of 13 specified imported parts replaced to increase the mag capacity. most go with the full tube, a follower from brownells and a usa made forearm. a USA stock is supposed to be out soon. it said to be rarely if ever enforced but is also said it only take sone a44 hole to ruin your day.

            LOL, yup wasnt me
but as you said it is easy to comply. I actually like the surefire forend so it was real easy for me to comply. I notice most dont wanna change the forend thats where it becomes hard. but if mesa ever gets the shortend stock out alot of people will be happy.

OT: but why does everyone want a shorter LOP? are all the benelli owners midgets or something?

Of the 6 or so people that have shot mine, only about 3 of them actually didn't think the LOP was terrible. 2 of said 3 people are over 6 feet tall.

Heck the OEM LOP is just barely short enough for me.

Thus I think a more accurate assessment is that everyone at Benelli is huge.

shorter LOP will make it faster and easier to shoulder and manuever in a HD situation. also if you wear thick clothes, tactical vests (no I dont) etc.
