    Mossberg 00 Buck patterns

    Patterned my Mossbergs today. 18" Cyl bore and the other 20" Cyl bore with a King Armory's KA1212 brake. All 9 pellet 00 buck. Hands down the best was the Fed Low Recoil with Flight Control

    #1 Fed Low Recoil with Flight Control (Gotta get some)
    #2 Win Low Recoil Ranger ( get some)
    #3 Rio Royal ( would buy again)
    #4 Estate ( ok )
    #5 Win Super X ( crap)
    #6 Fiocchi (crap)

          I have my Remmy 870P (18" inch barrel) as my home defense shotgun.

          Looks like in a home, I couldn't see shooting any further that 15-yards with 00-Buck, as that is probably the max distance for a room/living room.

          Looks to me, based on your targets, that the top three 00-Buck loads are the following: (With the best one as #1)


          #1 Federal Low-Recoil w/flight control wads
          #2 Rrio
          #3 Estate

            Awesome PRC77, this is some great shots/info! definitely need to try out the fed with flight control!

                  Great job. You've got your barrels all sorted out. Unfortunately, each shotgun (even same models from same mfg) patterns differently. you are in good shape. Unfortunately the rest of us still need to pattern ours.

                    I've patterned my 18.5" Cyl barrel a few times.... but never my one for clays. I've yet to see a cyl barrel that patterns poorly with Federal / Hornady FC wads, I'd use them as the benchmark.
