I have a old 20 gauge 870 with a non vent rib 29" barrel. I would like to cut the barrel down to 24" or 25" My question is, there a possibility I can get a gunsmith to bore and thread the barrel for a choke?

Yes.
But don't have your barrel cut until measurements are made. Many of the older barrels have OD's not concentric with the ID. -
With enough money anything can be done or made

The barrel can be thick, but sometimes the bore is not in the middle of the barrel. One wall may be thicker than the other.Comment
