I shot the stoeger, and it's decent, though the one i shot did jam up a bit , dunno why , i think my buddy just had a bad part in it. I hear franchi's are good but never shot, you should check out other auto's like the mossy 930 or the remi's 1100's, those are great too. the A391's i think you can get as well at a good price.Be the change that you wish to see in the world.Mahatma Gandhi

Inexpensive? I'd look for a used Browning Auto-5. A used Benelli M1 would be my next choice up. New? FN SLP MK1. Not that inexpensive but they are $800-something, I believe. I remember when they were just over $600 back before the scare.Last edited by Jeffy; 11-26-2010, 9:58 PM.Comment

Beretta 3901...built on the A390 platform. Great auto.Comment

The Stoeger needs some hot loads first and then it should shoot without issue. The Stoeger is build on the same Benelli Inertia System.
Just like a Benelli it should be fed with good loads that will cycle the action and you cannot hang a bunch of crap on the gun. With most/all Inertia System Benelli, if you load them up with too much weight, the gun will short cycle.Comment

I was out in a duck blind with a buddy today that shoots a stoeger, It jammed up on him 3-4 times first thing. It was 31 degrees though and I think it had more to do with the lube on his gun got sticky with the cold. It started shooting fine once the temps got up around 45. Ruined his moring hunt but I got a big ol pintail due to his jam.
For an inexpensive autoloader check out the Weatherby SA-08, it has some really good reviews. This is my go to duck gun, Ive had mine a little over 2 years now and mine has thousands of rounds through it now without a single hiccup, and I treat it rough. Its been dropped in the drink a couple of times and still has mud on it from last season. It works great for me.Last edited by qbi2001; 11-27-2010, 11:18 PM.Comment
