    Interstate 982

So I did a search and read through a few other threads. Any reason not to get one (other than the Chinese origins)? Seems all the reviews are positive.

Also, anybody have a good resource to buy accessories? Thanks for the info.

Go for it! If you're getting it from Big5, either wait for the sale or request the sale price ($199.) You can also find them on Bud's for a little less but your OTD price probably won't be much different.

Shop for accessories anywhere they sell parts for the Remington 870.

    Enjoy!

Pretty much any accessory that fits on a Remington 870 will fit on the 982, except the barrel. Some forestocks may need slight adjustments. Otherwise the other parts, including internal mechanics, swap out as-is.

If your 982 has the ghost ring sights swap out 3 of its screws... This photo shows the sight with the new screws, they metric M4s, depending on the lengths you get (available at most hardware stores) you may need to grind them down a bit so they don't interfere with the bolt action in the receiver. I used a bit of LocTite as extra insurance.

I also read in the other threads that the 870 mag extensions would fit with some modification.. Does anybody know what modification they require? I'm not too mechanically inclined so I hope it's easy

Sorta along the OP's thoughts on accessories... is the choke fixed or screw-in interchangable?

you gotta drill out the dimples as you would on a newer 870
