Benelli M4 Bolt Release Extension?

Anyone know if there's a bolt release extension or a way to make it bigger for the Benelli M4? I'm getting annoyed with that little nub and would like a nice round button.


The little nub below the bolt handle is what I'm referring to.

Neither lists the Benelli M4 as compatible, but I'm guessing there's not a huge difference between the bolt carrier release on either.

Any clue why one "carrier release bar" is $120.00 and the other is $19.95?

It looks like, after further review, the cheap one requires machining the bolt release it came with, while the expensive one has a new part included.

They both look terrible. I just wanted a bigger button, not a silly looking pad. I think I'll just find a gunsmith and come up with something better.

Daves Metal Works in Covina you trim back the hane guard just a bit and slip it in. The Arredondo you have to drill and tap the button to install a bigger button.

Why do you need to trim the hand guard? Do you have a pic?

You don't have to trim it but it sits better if you do.

Call Dave he should be back in his shop next week.

maybe someone with a CNC machine can make you one, but it wouldn't be cheap.

There are 2 or 3 that I'm aware of. Arrenndondo, GG&G and Daves Metal Works.

I belive that both the Arrendondo and the GG&G require drilling the factory button to install a longer bar.

The DMW part is held on by slipping under the hand guard and it extends over the factory button allowing you to use 3 fingers to close the bolt. The DMW part cost around 12 to 15 bucks.

So I took my M4 into a 'smith to see if he could drill & tap the bolt release to put a bigger "button" onto it.

He called me back and told me he'd broken two punches trying to get the roll pins out and suggested it probably wasn't worth continuing as it could cause some damage. Apparently this is an issue with the Benellis. Bummer.

Anyone actually tried Dave's Metal Works' one?

I've used DMW for at least 5 years on my M1 3 gun shotgun. Works great no problems. DMW comes with a lifetime warranty if I remember correctly. They also have extension tubes, bolt handles, springs, and stuff for Remmy's
