    Mossberg 590

Just picked up a 590 today Loving its sturdy feel! Am looking for a light mount, anyone suggest any? I don't like the kind that require the foregrip to be switched out, I really want the kind that mounts to the tube at the end. Any suggestions?

I am also going with a junior stock to shorten its length. Got sling system worked out and ordered. Looking at sight options now too.

I get slammed every time I post this, but I have this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5819. It works perfectly fine, and I saved some money. Be prepared for about a two weeks wait for it to get to you. It has not loosened over hundreds of rounds, birdshot mostly with some buckshot.

cdmgear.com for the light mount. You will like the shorter LOP on the stock. Before you start putting NEW sights on it. Go out and shoot the crap out of it. Then decide, IF you really NEED them. What kind of sling set are you going with??

Surefire tactical light should do very nice, but there are a bunch on amazon that don't require that. I just grabed one for my 500 and love it

+1 for surefire integrated forend for my 590. They make the m odel 623LM which is compatible with bayonet lug models.
The "best" handgun caliber debate rages on, meanwhile I just keep buying low recoil 00 buck.

If you go this route, definitely think about picking up a Surefire G2 (or similar light), then going to Lighthound.com for the 360 Lumen Cree LED insert.

It's more recoil resistant, and where else can you come up with a high quality flashlight throwing 360 lumens and costing less than $50 total?

What is wrong with the forend lights, other than cost? I love the Surefire 623LMG on my Mossberg 590.

I grabbed mine at Dom's in Livermore on a special order. They actually price matched the best internet price, and this was for the older wider bezel units.

I definitely wanted the 623lmg. The narrow bezel means not having to grind the bayonet lug or do the dremel job on the forend (posted here on Calguns for those interested). It also has 200 lumen output compared to the previous unit's 80 lumens.

They do take potential modification of one's handhold, but otherwise it is an amazing way to add light to a 590.

The surefires are beautiful, but hot damn expensive!

CDM gear for the light mount and streamlight (such as the polytac) for the light.

Before you go touching the sight, what do you want to use it for? I ask because a lot of people go putting ghost ring sights on a shotgun they will rarely if ever use past 30 yards. Ghost ring sights will slow you down. XS sights and Mepro lights both make good looking tritium bead sights.

Nordic make a great barrel/magazine clamp, won't interfer with your lug. Like the others make sure whatever light you settle on is an LED. You don't need a SureFire forend light setup a clamp on will do nicely.
