Barrel Lenght on USMC Issue 870

What was the barrel length on the Marine Corps issued 870 Shotgun?

And Happy Birthday my Brothers. 235 years old and still Kicking A double S. As long as there is a United States Marine Corps there will be an United States of America.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

The correct length is 21". You'll probably find more info if you look up, '870 Mark 1 bayonet adapter'.

        +1

A little while ago, the M870mk1 was phased out. Some units still carry one or two but it's rare. Now, the M590 and M1014 have made their way in and have replaced the M870mk1 for the most part.

When I was in we (armory) had a couple of 870s with 18 inch barrels (bead sight), no mag tube extention (4+1) and the metal Remington factory top folding stock that I got to FAM Fire a couple of times while on deployment.

We also had a few old school 1897 "Trench guns" but we never got to shoot those.

I think the one I carried was 20", not too sure.

the ones others carried in addition to their rifle were 10"
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

thanks for the input. I posted a happy birthday to my brothers and the they pulled the post off the site. So I reposted it with the barrel question to comply with whatever his issue was so he would leave the post. See, that is what we Jarheads do, you think you beat us and we adapt and come back and win. So my birthday post remained, just in a different form. Being that this forum exsist because of the freedom defended by millions of Marines, Army, Navy and Air Force men and women, you would think they could have over looked the rules for a Happy Birthday to the some of the ones who secured that freedom. They could have left that post as other sites did. Guess not, but I got it in anyway. "Semper Fi"

Silly Jarhead, they did not pull your post, the Mod just put it into the correct "discussion forum."

Got to be smarter than the SEARCH button; I would expect no-less from a Marine Wait, I'm a Former Marine...oh no you did not just call me stupid! Wait... did I just call myself stupid or did the OP - who cares, lets fight

The silly Marines and the wonderful things they can do, they follow orders and can even tie their own shoes. The Marines can do it, how about you.

Again, I have never been on anything but this one. Since this is where I come and post things to help guys with their Remington shotguns this is the only calgun site I know about. So, I put the barrel question and it was left alone and all the jarheads that have contacted me and asked Remington questions from calguns would see it and know I was wishing them well. It worked.

I thank the mod for putting it in the correct forum and next year it will have the correct question with it again so it can stay here.

Naw, bro. Just messing with you. But I wanted to make clear that the site did not "disrespect" (my word) the Marine Corps Birthday by just deleting your post. The Mods took the time to move it to the correct site.
