Remington Model 11 Help

At times my old Remington Model 11 wont feed the shell into the chamber. I'm posting a photo of the main issue that it has. Also the shotgun is setup correctly with the ring on the correct side of the spring for heavy loads.

It's easy to un jam, all I have to do is push that plate down below the base of the shell and it loads. But before doing so I have to hold the bolt handle back or the bolt will slam my finger into the chamber. Can anyone tell me what the source of this malfunction is?

The cartridge stop may need to be adjusted. The barrel activates the cartridge stop. The barrel has been going further forward, in the pic it's back. It may not be moving forward enough to contact the cart stop correctly.

Try a stronger magazine spring. Has the gun been taken apart and cleaned then oiled well?

Hey thanks guys.
I hadn’t taken it completely apart before Wednesday past. That was because the screws were seized, but I tried again and they came loose. I cleaned all the parts with lighter fluid and lubed everything with Remington silicone dry spray. I left the compression ring and tube dry, no lubricant.
I used the gun the past weekend and fired 20 rounds through it and it miss-fed 2 times.

All the parts look solid. After I think about it, if the magazine spring was weak it could cause that problem.
