    putting a sidesaddle on a hawk982?

    Hey guys,

i just picked up my new hawk 982. I wanted to put a side saddle shell holder on the side and i know the ones off an 870 will fit but i was wondering if any of you knew what brands don't require the cutting/ trimming of the fore end of the stock that comes with it.

i was looking at the mesa tactical and tristar. any input?

also on my hawk 982 the trigger guard is indeed polymer contrary to what ive heard. The latest shipment must be different. But im not worried about it the one on my winchester 1300 is polymer and has served me just fine for years

If you don't want to trim your forend, then a four shot shellholder is want you want. either Mesa or TacStar

Yes it requires you to trim a factory fore end. You can also purchase a shorter fore end from hogue speedfeed etc. I just installed one on my hawk 982 easy I bought a short fore end from Hogue. The tacstar side saddle 6shot that is fo the Remington 870 will fit.

No problem. Do not use a Remington 870 2 shot mag extension it will be to long. The one shot extension should fit fine. IF you get a new forend some minor fitting is needed as the magazine tube is slightly larger on the Hawk then the 870.

Get the Hogue forend, Tap it on with a rubber mallet. Also get the Wilson Combat + 1 extension. I have that on my 982 and its great!
