    if it fits it ships
ie 3" chamber, you can use both 2.75" and 3"

Have a Mossberg Maverick, a cheaper version of the 500. Shoots rifled slugs no problem.

G-force is correct about watching the chokes, though.
Check the slug manufacturers recommendations for best and safest performance.

if its a tight choke I would say no and get another barrel better suited for slugs
if its a "light" choke I would say try it but use caution

when it comes to anything that has moving parts, follow OEM specs

Post #13 in this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=351499

The pic shows one of our targets, that we shot with both Winchester & Remington "standard" slugs, from my 500 series. Just regular old 1 ounce slugs, nothing fancy.

Check the ammo manufacturers recommendations. Most of the "Sabot" style slugs are clearly marked (on package) "For use in rifled barrels only".

Choke should be either Cylinder or Improved Cylinder for rifled slugs. Tighter chokes can cause problems. Full choke with rifled slugs is not safe.

                          A 500? Yes.
Your 500? Depends on the choke.
