    Removing Benelli Stock

Anyone have any tips for removing the stock from a Benelli M2? From what I've read, you just remove the trigger housing group and then turn the stock counter clockwise. I've removed the trigger group, but can't get the stock to budge when turning..

What is the bolt for that is inside the stock?

I didn't take the stock off my M2 but on my M1 you remove the base pad and the stock was held on with a 13mm Nylock nut. I think the M2 is the same. The base pad is just pushed in on the M2 no screws.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Thanks. I saw that bolt and nut inside the stock. I figured that was how to remove it, but then when i was looking online I found multiple things that said you just remove the trigger group and the stock unscrews. Maybe that was for the M4 or something. I'll remove the nut and see what happens!

        thanks again.

I was going to say "unscrew it counter-clock-wise after removing trigger guard" but I have only personally done that with the M4.

After looking at the stock I am going to be putting on the M2, I don't see any sort of threading inside.. That would probably mean it's not a screw on kind, right?

The stock is very easy to remove and replace. It is held on by the 13mm lock nut that was referenced above. The nut is threaded on to the recoil spring tube which extends down into the stock from the action. Your stock is not threaded, it just has a hole for the threaded portion of the recoil spring tube that goes thru it and is attached by the nut. If you have a field stock the recoil pad can just be pulled off of a M2 with a sort of twisting motion. Be aware that field stocks have an insert in the stock (the metal plate that the stock nut tightens up against) that will fall out once the nut is removed and there are matching shims that go between the action and the stock (the combination of plate and shims adjusts the stock for cast and drop). Pistol grip stocks do not have these same features.
              Good luck

How do you get the recoil pad off of the M2?
