These are both the cheaper versions from the originals so what would be the best HD Shotty that I can add cool stuff to? I have the option of getting a new Maverick 88 for $249.00, a Hawk 982 for $199.00 or a used Remington 870 for $200.00, Best choice?

I don't have a 932, but I do have a Maverick 88. It's very reliable, but I have a tendency to short stroke it when trying to fire it fast. It's my throw around shotgun so I put all kinds of useless things on it. I.E. pistol grip, heat sheild, side saddle. These items do nothing to add to the effectiveness of the shotgun. But they do make it look cool. I have other shotguns that I don't mess with, but my Maverick is the one I will put any tacky item on. Sounds like you want one for similar reasons. Oh and as far as home defense, my Maverick has been very reliable. If it was my only shotgun, I would not hesitate to use it in a HD scenario. -
comparing it to an express 870, the hawk 982 is $100 cheaper, has a better finish, grs, trigger metal guard, it doesnt have problem extracting spent shells, and it has a properly shaped extractorWTB: Yugo 7.62x39, 22lr, Finnish M28/39

I had the Mav 88. I really regret selling it since it was an awesome shotgun. It was no less reliable than any Mossberg, and I especially liked the position of the safety on the Mav 88 when using a pistol grip. As I posted in the past a few times, no difference in parts when torn down completely with a Mossberg 500 Combo shotgun.

Hawk 982. I wouldn't call it a step down from 870 though. I have both, the the fit and finish on the Hawk isn't worse, while the sights are way better. It has a metal trigger guard, too, as opposed to the plastic one on the 870.DiaHero Foundation - helping people manage diabetes. Sending diabetes supplies to Ukraine now, any help is appreciated.
