If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

I've been using Lyman's six round side saddle for many years and on many shotguns. None have loosened up yet even when left stuffed in a police car for extended periods.

Mesa is good equipment on the whole, I just don't have experience with their side saddles.

Mesa Tactical is a very good shell carrier. TacStar is the old stand by but....
Because of storage issues I have found the California Competiton Works elastic and velcro side saddles the best. They allow me to remove the side saddle for storage in the safe and I can carry spare shells on my vest in the elastic carrier and tear off an empty carrier and repakce it with another full 6 shell carrier in a couple seconds so ammo is taken from the same place all the time.

Of course, regardless of side saddle you choose check out and make sure you can see the serial number with out removing it. Vang Comp is marketing a good shell carrier too if you want a hard shell carrier.

Got the handgun with my own money. Bought the 870 with the gift card.
