GG&G sling mounts

I was surfing eBay (damn eBay!) and typed in my normal search and came across a set of GG&G sling mounts for my 590a1 for a GREAT price! I bought it ofcourse, and waited for it to come in. It came in about 4 days. I put on my sg and the front didn't fit! The threads on the end of the magazine tube was preventing it to slide down flush to the lug. I took out the dremel and had to take some material off two areas: the top where it meets with the barrel and the bottom where it rests on the the mag tube. After 10 mins of grinding I finally got it to fit. Touched it up with some cold blue and called it a day. Has any one else had this problem? Or did I just get an off spec piece?

The sling mounts were still factory sealed, so I don't thing the guy who sold it knew there was fitment problems. I ll give him a good rating.

FYI, if anyone here wants to purchase a set of GG&G sling mounts for a 590, the rear mount won't work with the Knoxx SpecOps/Breachers stocks. The bolt is too short plus it's shaped differently and won't mount flush. I went wood, so it isn't a problem with mine.

GG&G is, my experience, top notch gear. I've never heard anyone say bad things about their stuff. I have a number of their items, including the BUIS on my AR, and several friends of mine swear by their stuff.

Makes me wonder if the guy who sold it to you didn't know what he had and sent you something the thought was for a Mossberg but was for something else.

It was brand new. It had the instructions and in the sealed bag it said mossberg 590. The back is perfect. The front on the other hand... DUH!! As I'm typing this I just realized that I have a 590a1!! THICK BARREL!!! ofcourse it won't fit. The regular 590 barrel has smaller exterior diameter size..
