Knoxx stock-think I got wrong one... help.

Ok, so while I waited my 12 days I ordered a Knoxx stock for my new Remi 870 Tactical, and what Midway sent doesn't fit. No, it's not that I can't get it screwed in tight enough, but that I can't even get the two parts close enough to even attempt screwing it in.

The bottom part of the stock juts out and hits the back of the trigger guard and I can't see how it could possibly fit. Am I missing something here? Like I'm just dense and doing something wrong? The package states that it is for an 870 but it does not look right...

Yes, it juts out and goes around the trigger guard. this is why the only over size safety you can use is the Wilson Combat. the trigger plate assembly will cam back into that portion of the stock and if you had say a Vang Comp dome type safety on the weapon the safety will shatter the stock and FUBAR your hand.

It certainly appears you have the right stock.

Thanks aippi, but I still don't get it. I can't get the stock close enough to the rear of the receiver to screw it in and I don't see just what what you mean when you say "the trigger plate assembly will cam back into that portion of the stock". In other words, what's the trick? If I lay the stock on top of the receiver the bottom part juts out past where the trigger so I don't see how it can cam as it's all one piece with the part that attaches to the receiver. It's the part in the photo that is shiny and touching the back of the trigger guard. If I had the strength to push it back, the back face of the part the receiver connects to would also move back and I would gain nothing.

I'm crying uncle on this one.

Edit: I just looked online at photos of the Knoxx for Remington and it does not have that piece that sticks out in my photo...

I'm going to have to say that that stock looks like the one for Mossbergs, the pistol grip is forward of the part of the stock that mates with the receiver to meet the trigger guard.

Remington trigger groups are located further aft on the receiver than Mossberg trigger groups. The screw that affixes the stock to the receiver also appears to be incorrectly aligned with the threads of the receiver. By that, I mean that's too huge of a difference to be a minor problem, it has to be a Knoxx stock for a Mossberg.

I looked at the picture and I thought is was the web site where you bought it. I did not try to open it and If that is one they sent you then it is wrong. Never saw that stock. I have installed hundreds, sold hundreds more for the Remington.

I was a Knoxx dealer and it was a sad day when Black Hawk bought them out. If that is the stock you are trying to put on an 870 then Kilo is correct. Wrong one. Don't know what that goes to as I only do Remingtons. Also, it comes with a forend. Did you get the Remington Forend. Check that before you call Black hawk as they will have to replace that also. Black Hawk customer service should correct this and good luck dealing with them.

That is neat how that picture opens. I don't even know how to put a picture on here much less one that would work like that did. Anyway you could e-mail me and tell me how to do that?

            Thanks all!

I'm not losing my mind after all. It is for some kind of mossberg, judging by the photos on Midway's site, you guys are right. That's where I got it from, so it will be no sweat sending it back. It's already on its way... And I have ordered another. Can't wait, as I am a 5' 1.5" woman and the LOP is too long... Gonna shoot it this weekend anyway with a few work buddies (gonna get a liberal into shooting ) along with an AR and some handguns.
