customized shotguns

Hey Calgunners, I've been seeing a lot of high speed low drag shotguns tacticooled with the latest and greatest. my question is, which shotguns are you guys using in your pictures? My internship at the airport just got extended for an extra 2 weeks so i'll have a bit more cash to spend on a shotgun. nothing too crazy, but something within the $200-$300 range. i've been reading the treads about the whole mossy vs. remington debate too. i hope this isn't a repeat thread. thanks.

Mine is a Mossberg 500
But most of them are Mossbergs or Remingtons 500's/870's
I think it's because both are cheap/reliable and there is alot of accessories out there for both already.

Barrels, heat shields, stocks, rails, forend grips, optics, slings, sights, you name it, someone probably makes it for a Mossberg and/or Remington...

I have a mossberg 590 A1 20 inch (holds 8+1) with ghost rings, mesa tactical 8 round side saddle, ontario M9 bayonet, and an ATI pistol grip stock.

The 590A1 is about $400 but is worth it....I wouldnt replace it with any other pump shotgun on the market...

IMO, the more you put on the thing, it makes it more "low speed, high drag". If you want a range toy then thats fine but if you want something you will rely for HD or similar then keep it minimum.

Thanks for the advice. Haha, I don't plan on putting a front pistol grip, surefire, bayonet, 9 round magazine, side saddle, scope, with optional cup holder on the shotgun. I just want something so that if i wanted to modify it in some way I would have the option of doing so. but I agree with you on the low speed high drag part. Same reason why I'm happy with my M16A2 as opposed to the new M16A4 with a million bells and whistles, more speed, less drag.

I don't think they make a pistol grip surfire frontend do they?

and if they did, wouldn't it interfere with the bayonette?

seriously, I don't think you can put them all on the same gun.

Getting harder to find, but can be had for $200-300, and most of the custom parts can be found on closeout prices since the shotguns are not manufactured any more as Winchester... only as the expensive FN tactical models.

That bums me out. I like the 1300 and always thought they were underrated.
