    Saiga 12 GA Pistol? (AOW)

Does anyone actually make them? I know that OC Armory in Lag. Hills has a few Serbu Super Shorties; but wondering if a Saiga 12 GA AOW Pistol (one that never had a stock) was made?
If so I'd love to get my hands on one!

All I've found similar to this concept is Alliance Armament's Accelerator SBS Conversion.

Unless he gets his NFA trust taken care of and does all the necessary paperwork. If you can find someone to ship one to him I'd bet Mike at OC Armory could help out or at least give you the information you need.

they probably can't make them since saiga 12s dont come in title 1 long arm form without the stock, they all come with stocks so once imported, they're considered shotguns since they are shoulder fired. serbu super shortys start off as pistol grip only shotguns which are just considered long arms(i think anyway)

There is a company making them. We should have one in in about a week and a half.

right, a stock Saiga12 can't be made into an AOW. but a Saiga12 could be demilled, a new receiver made, and built up as a smoothbore pistol, and therefore an AOW.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

They are not limited by mag capacity.

right, your ability to acquire an 11+ round mag may be difficult, but the usage of that mag is not illegal. For instance, An LEO friend can legally own a 20-round drum, lend it to me at the range, and I can use it in a fixed-mag Saiga-12.oops, forgot that we are talking about a pistol now, so the AW regs apply, and it must have a fixed-mag of <11-rounds.

AOW is a pistol? I though AOW is neither a pistol nor is it a longarm, that's why it's Any Other Weapon.

federaly, yes, an AOW is not a pistol. Well, actually, it is a smoothbore pistol, which makes it an AOW. But AOW status does not exempt you from CA AW regs. CA does not have an AOW definition, but defers to the feds with regards to federally-defined AOWs being exempt from 12020.

CA has the following definitions that apply.

12001. (a)(1) As used in this title, the terms "pistol," "revolver," and "firearm capable of being concealed upon the person" shall apply to and include any device designed to be used as a weapon, from which is expelled a projectile by the force of any explosion, or other form of combustion, and that has a barrel less than 16 inches in length. These terms also include any device that has a barrel 16 inches or more in length which is designed to be interchanged with a barrel less than 16 inches in length.
                          (2) As used in this title, the term "handgun" means any "pistol," "revolver," or "firearm capable of being concealed upon the person."
A <16" barreled Saiga-12 smoothbore pistol would fall under those definitions, and therefore, the roster applies, and so does the handgun AW regs.

Because of the Roster, OCarmory sells single-shot Super Shorties. Because of the AW regs, nobody with an VFG'ed AR-pistol should be running detachable mags, or 11+round fixed mags.
