    Sears Model 20 info?

Got a line on what I think is a decent deal on a Sears Model 20, $125. I did a bit of research, looks like these were farmed out to High Standard and it's the same as their Model 20.

Anyone here have any good/bad to say? Seems like it would make a fine clay pigeon killer, dove hunter, just all around fun cheap gun.

This one doesn't have the compensator or the vent rib, no choke. I was thinking it could even make a nice cheap HD gun if I could trim the barrel down to 18".

that is what it is, a High Standard and a fine shotgun. They made them for Sears and there are a bunch of them out there. I think the high stanard model number was 200, but same weapon. You can't go wrong with the weapon or the price and there are still some gun smiths around that can work on them if anything goes wrong. If this is a shotgun you can shoot before you buy it then jump on it now as that is a good price if the weapon is functioning well.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

I'm going to see if they can give it to me for $150 out the door with transfer, lock, etc. I think the total was $165 or something like that so they might bite at that price.

It my day a neigboring PD had them and trained with us. I shot the hell out of them. You may still see some High Stanard pumps in some cars in small departments. Make your offer and if they don't take it leave your telephone number with them. When the rent and light bills come due they will need to make some sales.
