    Loose Foregrip on 870

Just picked up my 1st shotgun from Big5 today after my 10 day. Remington 870 express synthetic 12guage 20inch barell 8 shot. Funny thing after reading a post on what to check for when buying from Big5 posted by IrishPirate in a different thread...
    - Check that the foregrip doesn't move side to side
I checked my forend and it does move side to side. Not much but does feel loose.I'm new to shotguns so I don't know i this is normal or not. Have plans to bring it to Angeles tomorrow night and shoot the s*%t out of it.Maybe I should hold off and bring it back to Big5? Is this normal on the 870?

The forend will rock a little from side to side. that is normal and your forend is not loose. It is attached to the forend tube assembley which is as stated a tube. This rides on a the magazine tube which as stated is a Tube so tube around a tube will rotate or as stated rock a little from side to side. If not for the action bars the forend tube assembly would rotate 360 degrees around the magazine tube. This is the design of the weapon not an issue. Over 10,000,000 870's all do this.

This weapon is made by Remington not the Sporting goods store so I don't get the what to check for from Big 5 stuff except to say if the guy does not know the Remington shotgun if he is refering to this as an issue.

your weapon is fine and you will have a blast (pun intended) tomorrow night shooting the S*%t out of it. Nothing better then shooting a new gun for the first time. Well nothing you do with your pants on anyway.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.
