Hello all
I am trying to buy a shotgun via private party transfer.
My friend is a current California resident, who used to be a Utah resident. He has a shotgun that he bought off ksl.com classefieds (Utah craigslist), which means that there is nothing official saying that he owns this gun (that's legal in Utah).
Anyway, according to CA law, when he moves into the state, he does not have to register his long guns. The shotgun is CA legal and I am trying to buy it through an FFL.
I want to know if I will run into any problems with the FFL.
What information does my friend need to bring (records, etc.)? What if I pay the $25 and there is a problem, will my friend get his gun back?
I greatly appreciate any
advice.
