Advice on Boca range / Truckee shotgunning

Can anyone advise me on whether the Tahoe National Forest's Boca shooting area is suitable for hand throwing clays?

I called the ranger station in Truckee, but the ranger said she could not advise on whether there was an area to throw clays.

Also, any general advice on this range would be welcome -- or the suggestion of another near Truckee. I'd prefer a free, no hassle range. The ranger gave me general information on access to Boca and said the range is unsupervised. But that's about the only info I could get out of her.

There is a bunch of info in this thread, including a link to a Google map of the area. Looks to be plenty of room from the aerial view, and a poster in the thread thought 75 yards. That should be more than enough for hand thrown.
