    New Mossberg 930 needs accessories

I started DROS on a new 930 Turkey (85235) and need some uprgade input (And no, not buy a Benelli). It's going to be a do it all gun for me (clays, hunting, 3-gun) as it is my first semi-auto shotgun and I have a couple of questions.

Choke tubes - I was looking at the Poly Choke II. Is it any good? Will it fall apart smashing it around in 3 gun? What other chokes should I look at?

Mag Tube - Nordic +5 with the longer end cap should put me right at the 24" barrel if not a little past. Any issues or better options with this? I will limit it to 8 for tactical.

Thanks for the input! Pics will go up when it comes home!

i dont know about accessories, as i havent installed any on my 930 yet.

A piece of advice, dont forget to clean the shotgun real well when you get it home. I didnt and mine jammed all the time. I almost sent it back to factory, but after i cleaned it, it ran like a clock. No jams, and it eats anything.

    Enjoy your new shotgun.

I have the exact same gun. I just put a Nordic + 3 tube and clamp on it and the end of the cap stops right at the beginning of the barrel ports. I'm planning on getting my barrel cut right at the ports and have it re-threaded for chokes, and maybe buy the XL endcap to get one more round. I bought chokes(skeet, modified) directly from Mossberg $17.00 each. Do be aware that if your gun is ported(which it is) it's technically an open class gun, and +5 will make it VERY nose heavy full loaded.
Also, if you buy a Nordic tube, you have to cut the spring to fit YOUR gun, make sure the ends are perpendicular to the length of the spring or the follower will stick.

Consider getting the charging handles from either Choate or Nordic Components, I have the one from NC on mine. Excellent weak hand operation when reloading while weapon is shouldered.

Maybe a sidesaddle too? That might weigh down your set up though.

@gasol1ne - Copy. I will definately clean before shooting!

@chekenbach - Yeah, I did realize about the ports but good call. I'lll get it cut down eventually or if I ever shoot a more official match.

@kiloechovictor - You have a NC for the mossberg? Didn't see one on the site, where did you find it? Looking at http://elitetacticaladvantage.com/pr.../charging.html

@prc77 - I've heard Briley's are great. Why the extended, just for ease of swapping? Considering it comes with a XFull, what 2 should I start with; IC and and IM maybe?
I do load weak hand, that's one of the benefits of being abidextrous!!!

            Thanks for the responses!!!

                NC Charging Handle: http://shop.nordiccomp.com/NC-Speed-...H-MB-12-00.htm

The one you posted looks like it'd fit the bill, it's just a personal preference thing. I'm thinking about liberating the safety for the 930 that's on the site you showed heheh

I ordered the NC bolt handle and XL end cap today, trying for +4 without buying another tube, or retaining +3 while using a low drag follower.
I put a screw in sling stud on the side of my Nordic tube clamp and it works like a charm. Nice!!!!

Very cool. I ordered chokes and will get the nordic stuff once I pick up the gun next week. I'm not 100% on what length end cap to get to make it all line up.

Took out the 930 today for the first time and it ran like a champ. I really like the feel of it and the Mrs. loved it too. The fiber optic rifle sights are cool but took a little getting used to for trap. I'm ordering the Nordic stuff this week!!!

Sweet. What NC stuff did you order exactly? I ended up buying the safety from ETA, really is excellent kit.

+6 tube, speed bolt, and clamp. I think I will get the same safety as you eventually. Glad you like it.
