    First shotgun!

I can finally post in this forum! I doubt anyone will be impressed but I took the plunge today and finally bought the missing piece of my very small but growing collection - a shotgun.

    Mossberg 500 12ga 2-3/4" & 3" with a 28" and 18.5" barrel.

After tax and DROS came out to $328, so I can't really complain

It's a great set for what it is. I've bought 3 or 4 of them over the years. But, I've never paid more than $200 + tax and DROS for one!

      I went with this: http://big5sportinggoods.shoplocal.c...06086&offerid=

I think the price has just gone up, since that was the sale price already

I went with 8-shot "Security" model for that exact price. I still feel it was a great deal.

I just started my ten day purgatory. Remington 870 Express Magnum, very used. $250.96 out the door. The 28" vent rib barrel with interchangeable chokes was what sold me on it. This will be my first shotgun as well.

Congrats on the new purchase! I think it was a good choice (I picked one about a month ago). Not the first shotgun for me to own, but the first one I bought.

Great way to start. I have the same combo in 12ga and the GF has one in 20ga. There fun and practical. Clay shooting is addictive with them.

                  Enjoy !

He didn't get this set, new, at $200...

That is a great set. It is not a starter set but the best valued, most reliable, versatile, easily used pump action 12 Ga. kit on the market today IMO. And it will last a lifetime...

                      Congrats!

Goog purchase! I got the 8 shot "Security" model last year. I started adding stuff to it and it's now a piece of extreme mall-ninjaness

I got one of those 'side holsters' that holds extra shells already... Really want to add stuff but also keep it slim.
