    Non CA compliant Saiga

Can one be bought and shipped to another state and then have a BB installed and then shipped to a FFL dealer in CA. Can I have one shipped in without a mag to make it compliant? If not do I have any other options? I am at my wits end. These things are $300 less out of CA.

you want it converted? Buy a sporter and do it yourself its easy. If you dont feel confident i could help im in SD and did mine. What kind of port work and why?

It's so the gun will fire the lower power loads. At least that's what I have read.

I can tell you for sure they aren't $300. My national distributors have for for over that for a regular one. If you have something in mind give me a call Ted! We're pretty darn competitive, also our transfers only run $35.

if you get a siaga that will not cycle lower load just send it in for factory work and they will fix it in the first year. dd ranch has them. there was also a pawn shop in san diego think it was royal pawn i got mine from but they where a pain with the paper work but i am military and not a resedent so you might not have the same problems i had. i got mine for $600 before tax or dros. i would now deal with paxallax since they have a ffl. i have goteen many ar parts and they have helped me put together my first ar. very fail prices also. http://store.carolinashooterssupply....let/StoreFront you can order all the parts for a conversion threw here if you do it yourself. only basic hand tools needed.

I'm new to Saiga 12's: why are conversions done? Is it primarily for cosmetic reasons (to get an AK look-alike in 12ga) or are there functional reasons? In other words, is a stock Saiga 12 (no pistol grip, standard stock) a decent shotgun, or is a conversion needed to make it "work right"?

EDIT: OK, found this explanation: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=39651

$650 used isn't a bad deal, but $899 out of state???

Too bad you're down south, because PRK in Fresno sells a converted S12 for $999. After shipping and transfer, that 899 is just about 999. Also, you get the pleasure of supporting a Cal gunshop, instead of these bandwagon jumpers from out of state.

400 with welding, blast, and re finish? If so that's a damn good price.
