    Free shooting range/area in Sacramento?

Anyone know of a shooting area that is free in the Sacramento area? I don't really like the stress of a "controlled" shooting range. I heard there was an area out past Lincoln, CA. Any help would be great!

There's one in Spenceville. It's not what I would call close to Sacramento nor would I call it stress-free, but that might just be me.

There is one in Lincoln but it is not free.
I find Spenceville very stressful especially on the weekends - people shooting behind you, swinging loaded guns around without any regard for anyone around them, scumbags leaving their targets and messes.

Yeah hence why I never go there... Never heard a good thing about that place. Sad as it keeps other people away.

I think that one is out by Camp Far West, a little bit further than Dillman Range of the Lincoln Rifle Club. Personally I don't trust any range with people I don't know and no RSO.

I was was wondering when the first person was going to criticize me for wanting a less controlled environment. Thanks, you take the honors. I follow every rule of the RO. But thanks for assuming.

I totally hear you. I want to go to a range and practice holster draw shooting. I also want to practice two shots to the midsection followed by a shot to the head (realistic shooting). I DON'T think that when it matters a bad guy will say....one shot...each second please.

There is a nice place between West Sacramento and Clarksberg, it's right near the port, well kinda about 18 miles from it.

Hey RC...there is another place I know of. It isn't in Sac and I may make a drive to go there sometime. I want to pickup these and have some fun outdoors.
