    Inter-state travel question...

I will be taking a road trip to Texas soon, and wanted to know if anyone knows the laws for transporting a shotgun in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Here in CA it just cant be loaded right? It's not like the strict handgun laws, correct?. Please enlighten me.

I can vouch for NM and Texas, you can carry it in the trunk unloaded. Be prudent even though gun laws in NM and TX are not as strict, sometimes LE in small towns can be kinda quirky when they see out of state plates.

PS: If you are going on I-40Thru Amarillo towards Dallas, do not go through Childress Texas at night! Out of state plates will get you pulled over. Apparently there is a lot of drug traffic on that route. The Childress cheif of Police told me this.
