Recomendations for shot gun ammo for indoor range

I need recomendations for shot gun ammo to use at a indoor range, possibly Reeds. Its a 12 gauge Big5 combo Mossberg 500. This is my first shot gun.

It will be whatever the range allows. Reed's says in their rules that you can use whatever you want (buck, bird, slug) as long at is not steel shot. They all have websites now so check there first. If you cannot find the info on the web call them before you go to shoot, because in my experience (here in Orange County) indoor ranges do not like shotguns

If you are starting out I recommend bird shot if the range allows it. Why? Because it is cheaper. After that try some some buck shot and slugs.

I would try different brands/loads because they all act slightly different.

+1.... and if there isn't a website, call the range ahead and ask. Different ranges have different policies. Some will not allow any buck shot or slugs at all. Pretty much any indoor facility that will allow shotguns will allow bird shot, and if you are just getting started with a shotgun, low base bird shot loads are a good way to start getting used to the gun.

There is nothing worse than showing up ready to shoot and being told you can't because you don't have the right ammo.
