I like to actually handle an inexpensive case before I buy, and the gunshow's a good place to do that.

For cheap cases, I like http://www.acecase.com/, as they're at the local gun shows, and there's no tax or shipping. proraptor's UTG has a good reputation for soft goods, and lots of people like them for the money.

Of the Midway links, I can't say without seeing them, but I have a couple of Allen cases, and they're on the mediocre side of cheap. I like Ace Case much better for the money.

For more money, Eagle and Boyt both make some great cases. My Eagle assault rifle case is quite a good one, and I have several Boyt revolver and shotgun cases that are my favorites.

One difference between my Ace and Eagle assault rifle cases is that the Ace doesn't have a padded protector along the zipper, while the Eagle does. For just hauling stuff to the range and back, it's probably not a big deal, but that extra bit of padding makes me feel better.
