I have an older Remington 870 Wingmaster and was wonder how I would go about finding the age or date built. Any ideas?

I recently called Remington about my 870 and gave them the serial over the phone, and they told me the year it was made.sigpicLord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

"IF" it has the original barrel, the barrel code will tell you. If not, it'll tell you when the barrel was made.
