Benelli Nova vs Supernova

What is the difference between these two? Whats the price difference like? Im looking to upgrade from my mossberg 500AG.

I think the Super Nova accepts 3.5" shells. Someone will have to confirm this.

The Supernova has the comfortech stock to reduce recoil. If that little bit of extra comfort is important to you then it's worth the extra $150.

The Supernova also has a removable stock, however the Nova stock is a one piece unit with the receiver. Therefore, you can only change the stock on the Supernova.

Supernova's go for about $500, Nova's about $375 or so. Check the Benelli website for the details of their $50 cash rebate. I believe it is still going.

Supernova has the ComforTech stock. It is also removable unlike the Nova which is connected to the receiver. Not that big of a difference, but I personally went with the SuperNova.

there is an elusive collapsible stock available for the supernova; almost impossible to find and you'll pay $700.00+ at auction on gunbroker when it does come up....

the comfortech stock also has removable pads to change the comb.

i'd spend a little more to get the SuperNova.

I'll give props to Benelli for having a truly ambi action release on their pump guns. I don't currently own a Benelli, but I have held them before. The action release on my Wingmaster is not in the best location; add the fact that I am a southpaw and the nuisance compounds.

The SuperNova was developed in response to the original Nova's complaints about the buttstock being connected to the receiver. The newer SuperNova can have the buttstock changed out for the pistol grip stock option which the original Nova could not do.

My SuperNova has the comfort tech stock which is a shock absorbing system of gel pads. Nice stuff.

My SuperNova also shoots up to 3.5 shells. I am not sure if the old Nova did too?

The trigger guard is HUGE on the SuperNova for gloved winter shooting which I really like.

The SuperNova has an over sized safety buton from the factory. No need to buy aftermarket.

The SuperNova comes in the "Tactical" model which offers ghost ring sights which allows the shooter to load up slugs and effectively take 100 yard shots. This is nice since I have a hard time doing the same thing with bead sights. It makes the 12 gauge even more versatile!!!

The SuperNova will run close to $400 (or $500 for the tactical) but you get alot of features for the money. I have owned remingtons and a mossbergs and I am 100% sold on Benelli now. Specifically the SuperNova.

Glad I found this thread. I'm looking at either a Benelli Nova Tactical or Supernova Tactical as my first shotgun.

What would be considered a good price for either in the greater Los Angeles area?
