    Restored Ithaca

Here are some pics of my 1976 Ithaca 37 D.S. Police Special that I picked up for 170 dollars. 20 inch barrel with 4+1 capacity of 2-3/4 shells only. It only had about 30 percent of it's original finish left. It was missing the front sight assembly and the wood had numerous dents and some gouges in it. I stripped it completely down and bead blasted all parts to be refinished. I used my friend's parkerizing tank and Manganese Phosphate solution for refinishing. I then ordered a new original DS front sight assembly and new springs from the Ithaca factory in Ohio. I stripped down the old finish on the wood stock and forend and steamed out all the dents. They were sanded and given a TruOil finish. I finally buffed out the original plastic buttplate to get rid of most of the scratches and put it back together. I have since put about 50 rounds thru it with no problems. I slam fired it a couple of times and was surprised how controllable it was when doing it.

      that came out really nice!

glad to see someone respect the wood and steel workmanship lost on synthetic knockoffs of today.

      well done!

I'm in love. Hell, I'm in lust.

        You do very nice work.
