Mossberg 500/590 stock question

Hi is the stock from a mossberg 500 interchangeable to a 590? reasonI ask is because I sold one and the guy is saying it wont fit his 590 without a adapter. I had this stock on two different 500s and a ( what I thought it was a buddys 590 ) cause he wanted to try it
The guy is saying it doesnt fit his 590. i just wonder if he got the 590 and 870 mixed up?

yes they should fit NO problem. He might be have a bolt length issue.

Its a aftermarket stock but it fit jsut fine on my buddys 590. I sold it though a buddy who has a ebay account and the guy claims it wont fit his 590 without a adapter and now he wants his money back. Im jsut gonna give him the money back because i dont wanna put my buddy through it and ruin his good rating on ebay. I jsut thought maybe the 590s have a different stock but this stock came off a 590 so i thought maybe they had a receiver change or something
