    Escort MP-A shotgun

Just got back from Angeles after testing out this bargain priced but seemingly very well made shotgun. Fired about fifty rounds of mixed ammo, oo buck, slugs, #4, and trap loads. No failure to feed or eject. I know this was no torture test but it bodes well to not have any problems off the bat. I have seen very little about these guns, but what I have found is very positive. There seems to be a general bias against these guns from Turkey and certainly there are pros and cons to buying one. But instead of a cheapie gun you may find that you are getting a gun that sold for much more under another brand. Parts and support - they are promised, but may not be around forever. Very happy with my purchase. (Flame suit on)

The guns from Turkey can vary a lot in quality from what I've seen over the years, but then again, most any gun from most any manufacturer can vary in quality. S&W in the Bangor Punta and the Tompkins PLC eras come to mind.

I have a Russian made over / under, manufactured by Baikal. It's solidly built, has proven to shoot consistent patterns across the range of choke tubes and was a terrific value when I bought it. I'm sure if I felt any measure of self confidence at the club going up against guys with Berettas, Brownings and Perrazzis with a relatively inexpensive import, that goes away when I shoot a good score.

If the gun functions well and shoots consistently for you, I'd think there's nothing to feel bad about.
