I usually see light/accessory clamps on the mag tube, and not directly on the barrel. But has anyone tried (or know from experience) how well a barrel clamp and light will hold if connected directly to the barrel itself? Will the heat from the barrel have any affect on the clamp? Did you need to use some type of apoxy to hold the clamp in place from moving? Heatshrink/rubber tube to keep it from moving? Did the rubber melt on the barrel?
If you look at the shotgun pic below, there's a little bit of space on the mag tube for a clamp. Would it bet better to put someting right there?
