help pricing a charles daly field tactical

i have a charles daly field tactical 12 guage shotty with about 20-30 rounds through it. i dont ever shoot the thing and never buy ammo for it so i figured it will help fund bills or a 9mm handgun. ive had it over a year and only shot it once so its in beautiful shape. how much would be a good asking price before i go post it for sale and ask too much or too little?

A good start would be telling us how much you paid for it...not too different than selling a used car.

it came out to about over 300 after paperwork iirc... it was about 280 off the shelf... i was thinging about selling for under 250

i'd say that was a good place. on the other hand i never needed $2-250 that bad so i would just keep it. i never got to a place where i had too many guns.

if you want another , go get one. you found the money for this one . find it again

i am much older than you(you will never hear me say shotty) and in my experience have found it foolish to decide i didn't need a weapon an sell it only to find a few years later my situation had changed and and i wished i still had it.

As someone who has sold or traded away far more guns than I own now (and my 30 gun safe is beyond full) and have quite a few regrets built in to that experience, unless you really need the money I would hang onto it. It's a good, simple and serviceable gun you could count on if you had to.

I've always set aside money for gun purchases... saving up for them, if you think of it that way. I've built a collection over time of what works well for me.

My two pieces of advice are :

** if you want a 9mm, work on putting the cash together using the time to find out which of the many models out there will be the best for you and your situation.

** don't call a shotgun a 'shotty'.

I would keep the CD Tactical and find the money for your 9mm from somewhere else, because you probably will struggle to get $200 for a Charles Daly Tactical at the moment. KBI who imported Charles Daly firearms closed their doors earlier this year, so no more CD firearms or parts are being imported in the near future. Currently, there is also no aftersales service or warranty repair services available in the US. If a CD firearm breaks, you currently have to repair on your own dime.

They are nicely made shotguns (I have two CD Tacticals) but since you paid the upper limit price for it, you will have to take a big hit to sell it, since you will be selling a shotgun which has no warranty support.
