    Remington 1100 not cycling?

I was shooting doubles at my last event and had a issue twice. First time, the shell was in the carrier, but didn't come up, and the bolt locked open. The second time it stove piped the first shell, the second shell was still in the carrier.

I've also noticed that upon extraction of the spent shell, that it barely ends up at the feet at the person the next post over. I've seen new 1100's that hit people two posts over. I'm gussing that a new mag spring and action spring might help, but not sure. Any ideas?

And yes I always tell anyone on the line next to me that i'm shooting a semi-auto in case thay want to move over

Not bad, replaced it about a year ago. It's a little on the loose side, so it's getting replaced anyway. This is a older 1100 that my father-in-law gave me once I started shooting trap. He doesn't think the springs were ever changed, so that's why I was leaning toward it being a spring issue.

Don't forget the carrier dog follower spring. Sounds like an issue since the carrier is not performing as it should.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.
